Terms of Service
Last updated: April 25, 2026 · See also our Privacy Policy and the Trust Center.
1. The platform
Shatun Brothers operates an online marketplace connecting homeowners in Los Angeles with vetted handyman service providers. We are not a contractor, do not perform the work ourselves, and do not employ the pros. The pros are independent service providers responsible for their own work, licensing, and insurance.
2. Homeowner responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of project descriptions, for paying the pro directly for the work performed, and for confirming the pro's qualifications match the work scope. The only verification we require for a pro to list is identity confirmation through Persona. Insurance Verified and License Verified badges, where shown on a profile, indicate documents we checked at the time of upload — they are time-of-upload snapshots, not continuous-compliance guarantees. We recommend reconfirming any pro's license at cslb.ca.gov before agreeing to work that may exceed California's $500 §7048 handyman exemption.
3. Pro responsibilities
You agree to maintain accurate profile information, current liability insurance, and any state license required for the scope of work you perform. You agree to honor pricing transparency standards, dispute response timelines, and the dual-confirmation review process. Misrepresentation, fake reviews, or attempts to evade the platform's pricing model result in immediate suspension.
4. Pricing for pros
Pros are charged $15 per qualified lead, deducted from a wallet balance at the moment a homeowner engages with the pro's reply. We do not charge for unused leads, undelivered notifications, or technical failures. Disputes over individual lead charges may be filed within 10 days through disputes@shatunbrothers.com.
5. Disputes
Disputes are reviewed by a human within seven calendar days. Decisions are final but may be appealed once with new evidence. We publish quarterly aggregate dispute statistics at /trust-center/. We do not guarantee any particular outcome but commit to reviewing every dispute on its facts.
6. Limitation of liability
Shatun Brothers acts solely as an information and matching service. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or completion of work performed by pros. Our maximum aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the prior 12 months. Some jurisdictions do not allow this limitation; in those cases the limit is the maximum permitted by law.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of California. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California, except where applicable consumer protection law mandates a different venue.
8. Changes
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice via email and a banner on the site. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
