Why we built this

Shatun Brothers is a Los Angeles handyman marketplace built around one simple idea: the people who do the work should compete on standards, not on lowest bid. Most lead-gen platforms treat handymen as inventory and homeowners as a numbers game. We do neither.

We launched in Los Angeles in 2026. Every pro on the platform completes Persona ID verification (government ID + selfie liveness) before they can list — that's the one required check. Beyond that, pros can earn optional badges by uploading documents we verify: Insurance Verified for a current general liability certificate, License Verified for a CSLB number we match against the state database. Profiles show which badges each pro has earned, and badges are clickable for the supporting details.

Reviews are dual-confirmed. The pro and the homeowner each leave a review within seven days of the job, or the review is held. Fake reviews trigger immediate account suspension. Ratings drift toward truth that way, not toward the loudest voice or the one most willing to argue.

Pros pay $15 per lead — flat, the same whether the job is $80 caulking or $600 tile work. No subscription. No bidding. No lead-credit churn that locks you in even when you're not getting matched. We charge only when a homeowner engages, not just for delivering a notification.

We're new. New means there's less data on us than on Thumbtack or Yelp, and we don't pretend otherwise. Where it shows up — “launched in 2026,” small review counts, founder responding to disputes personally — we leave it visible. Trust earned through process beats trust claimed without it.
