Commercial handyman: offices, retail, and common areas
Retail opening pushed two weeks because your handyman ghosted the punch list. Portfolio-grade pros can't afford that reputation — and neither can your lease clock.
What commercial covers
DIY vs. hire — which makes sense for your job
When in-house works
If you have a facilities team for your 50,000 sq ft office — great. For single-location retail, small offices, and multi-tenant buildings without a dedicated maintenance person, an on-call commercial handyman fills the gap.
When to call us
Tenant improvements, ADA compliance upgrades, after-hours repairs that cannot wait until Monday, and any work requiring insurance documentation. We carry $2M general liability coverage.
Permits, codes, and safety
Most commercial handyman work is permit-free: fixture swaps, lighting replacement (same circuit), drywall patch, hardware swap, signage. ADA modifications (ramp install, bathroom remodel) may require permits. Tenant improvement (TI) buildouts involving walls, electrical, or plumbing always require permits — we coordinate licensed trades for those scopes.
