Mounting and hanging service: shelves, art, mirrors, curtain rods
Anchor pulled out of drywall, shelf in pieces, gallery wall off by 2 inches. The entire fix is a stud finder, the right anchors, and two minutes of leveling. You shouldn't need a repeat visit for it.
What mounting & hanging covers
DIY vs. hire — which makes sense for your job
When DIY works
Light art (under 10 lbs) on drywall with picture hangers = easy DIY. Heavy mirror, floating shelf with weight (books, decor), or a gallery wall where multiple pieces need to be level to each other — where hire pays. A crooked gallery wall or a falling floating shelf is a slow-motion problem.
When to hire
A pro uses a studfinder, laser level, pencil marks, and the right anchor for each weight class: picture hanger for under 15 lbs, toggle bolt for 15-75 lbs on drywall, stud screws for over 75 lbs. Most single-item mounts: 15-30 min. Gallery walls: 1-2 hours.
Permit, license, and safety
Mounting and hanging is pure handyman scope. No permit, no license required under any residential scope for wall-hanging work.
